Hello Newman Connection,

I was very encouraged to read your letter and other material about your work of promoting Catholic practice, knowledge and life on college and university campuses.

I am Brother Thomas Betz, OFM Cap. – the vocation director for the Capuchin Franciscan Province of Saint Augustine, in Pittsburgh, PA.  I often visit college campuses. And I am often encouraged to see young people not only participating in Catholic prayer and activities, but also taking leadership. I have been on campuses where there is almost no formal planned program and yet I have seen students organizing programs on their own.

I can promise to pray the rosary twice each week for your work and for the fostering of Catholic life on college campuses. Our postulants, nine young men who are preparing for a life as Capuchin Franciscan priests and brothers have promised to join with me in this prayer.

Peace in Christ!
Father Tom Betz, OFM Cap
