Welcome to the Drexel Newman Catholic Community! We are a community seeking to grow in our Catholic faith so we can go forth in the world guided by faith, service, and love. From the committed to the curious - and everyone in between - you are welcome here! We provide many opportunities for students to encounter Christ and grow in their Catholic faith through the sacraments, small groups, retreats, social events, and discipleship and service. We love just hanging out as friends, so we invite you to come out to get to know us.

The Newman Center and Church (St. Agatha & St. James) is located right off campus at 111 S. 38th Street, and we have a chapel and an office on campus on the 2nd floor of the Academic Building.

Check us out on Instagram (, Facebook (, our website (, or contact Michael Gokie at for more information.

Drexel Newman offers you many opportunities to delve into your Catholic faith. From weekly Mass in our campus chapel and retreats to community volleyball games and Cheesesteak nights, we have something for everyone.

Mass & Newman Nights: every Tuesday our community meets to celebrate Mass at the Newman center (111 S. 38th St) at 7:30pm followed by faith formation talks, fellowship, and deserts.

Small Groups:There are a number of staff and student led small groups mostly headed by our FOCUS missionaries covering topics from Scripture and philosophy to contemporary issues and apologetics, but mostly to grow as friends in Christ. Contact Joe Maloney at if interested.

Retreats: Every Fall and Spring term the Drexel Newman Community has a retreat to connect with one another and learn about our faith as a community. This is a great opportunity to take a break from the craziness of campus life and delve into your faith in a new and intentional way. Contact Michael at if interested.

Christ in the City: Want to put your faith into action? Every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month, we hit the streets to reach out to those experiencing homelessness on the streets of Philadelphia. Our Christ in the City ministry strives to bring Christ's mercy to the poorest of the poor. Contact Michael at if interested.

Social: We also like to have fun! There are a bunch of social events every term, ranging from cheesesteaks and volleyball games, to Open Mic Nights and formals. Check our website and social media to keep up to date with various events going on throughout the term.

Curious about Catholicism? Our campus minister and missionaries are always flexible to talk. Never be afraid to reach out!
