The BATES CATHOLIC STUDENT COMMUNITY is the student-led Catholic organization at Bates College. The group is supported by the Catholic chaplain. We attend Mass in Lewiston’s beautiful Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, just a few blocks from campus, and participate in other spiritual activities such as prayer/discussion meetings and dinner meetings. We frequently collaborate with clubs of other faiths thru the Bates Multifaith Chaplaincy and with academic departments on subjects of mutual interest. There are opportunities to serve in the Lewiston community, volunteering with Prince of Peace Parish and charitable organizations such as the Saint Martin de Porres Residence, Saint Mary’s Hospital, and Hope House. If you would like to know more about our community contact club president Peter Philbin, or Deacon Frank Daggett.
